Transat set to come to New York
The oldest and very first single-handed trans-ocean race The Transat has showcased that this would be going towards New York City and would end at the new ONE°15 Brooklyn Marina which would be an official host venue partner to the race along with Plymouth, United Kingdom. It is located in the heart of Brooklyn Bridge Park, just opposite Manhattan.
It is the brand new marina to be built in the New York City and is presently under constructon with a great opening set for 2016 Spring to be marked by this exciting and iconic race.
SUTL Group chairman Arthur Tay told the Croatia yacht charter website that they are very thrilled to begin their grand opening season by arranging the end of the historic and iconic sailing race. He added that their target in designing this marina was to provide an unequaled level of access to the water for local Brooklyn community, New Yorkers, as well as boating enthusiasts from across the world. The prestigious Transat race would really bring a great audience to the waterfront in Brooklyn and solidify its place as a sought-after international sailing destination.
It appears very natural that the city that never sleeps must host this race. It is expected that New York would be awake when the captains dock in at 4am. The Transat’s Event Director Hervé Favre said that the marina would have several key features.
